About the Author
Kathie is currently working on her first novel, a historical fiction, dual timeline story of interracial friendship in Jim Crow-era North Carolina.
Her journalism work has appeared in multiple newspapers and online magazines. Kathie received the Sara-Jean McDowell Award for creative short story fiction and the Keith L. Ware Journalism Award. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in History at the University of Central Florida. She attended graduate school for History and Creative Writing at the University of Louisville.
She currently resides in North Carolina with her family, two cats, and her beloved coffee maker.
